PRIDE IN THE PARK TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ATTENDEES
- 1. COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS PRIOR TO EVENT
1.1 If you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, which can be seen here1 you are under no circumstances to attend Pride in the park. Please refer to the Scottish Government’s2 website for more guidance. You can contact [email protected] to receive a partial refund of £6.
1.2 Free Lateral Flow Tests can be ordered here3 and we strongly encourage you to take a test to ensure you are not asymptomatically carrying the virus.
2. COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS DURING EVENT
2.1 Physical distancing must be maintained between differing households. You will be reminded of this during the event, however if you continue to ignore this rule then you may be asked to leave the premises with no refund issued.
2.2 Face coverings must be worn when you are collecting your goodie bag from Greenwood, unless you are exempt.
2.3 Face coverings do not have to be worn when outdoors at the picnic. This is dependent on your personal preference and comfort.
2.4 Surfaces and items will be cleaned by event volunteers between different picnic slots, however, we ask that attendees please sanitise using the products provided, before and after use.
2.5 If you attend the event with full knowledge that yourself or someone in your household has symptoms of, or is carrying the virus, then you will be asked to leave the event with no refund issued, and the relevant authorities will be contacted.
3. SAFE SPACE
3.1 Pride in the park is a safe space for all attendees. Therefore we do not tolerate any form of racism, homophobia, biphobia, sexism, transphobia, ableism, or prejudice based on age, ethnicity, nationality, class, gender identity, sexual expression, appearance, language ability, intersex characteristics, immigration status or religious affiliation.
3.2 Anyone persistently expressing any of the above intolerances will be asked to leave the premises without a refund issued. Where necessary, the police will be informed.
3.3 Equally, any members of the public that express any intolerances detailed in 3.1 will be dealt with by the event volunteers and if necessary, the police will be informed.
3.4 Please consider your privacy and the privacy of others when sharing photographs and/or videos online. We respectfully ask that you gain the consent of others before sharing any photographs or videos that include them.
3.5 If you feel uncomfortable and that the safe space has been broken, please inform an event volunteer and we will do our best to amend this.
3.6 Attendees must all be respectful of their language as, although you may be comfortable using certain terminology, other attendees might find specific phrases hurtful and upsetting.
3.7 If you are deliberately and continuously using language that you know is upsetting to others, you will be asked to leave the premises without a refund issued.
4. SUBSTANCES
4.1 Pride in the park is an alcohol-free and no-smoking event. Anyone found to be drinking alcohol and/or smoking will be asked to leave the premises without a refund issued.
4.2 Extreme drunkenness will not be tolerated at Pride in the park. Anyone acting disruptively because of this will be asked to leave the premises without a refund issued.
4.3 Following 3.6, we ask you are mindful of your language regarding alcohol/drugs, as this could be upsetting and triggering to other attendees.
4.4 The selling and use of drugs is not permitted at Pride in the park. Anyone found to be partaking in this will be asked to leave the premises without a refund issued, and the authorities notified.
4.5 Attendees are welcome to bring their own food, non-alcoholic drinks, outdoor furniture, and outdoor games, as long as they adhere to the above terms.
5. ENVIRONMENT
5.1 All waste generated is the responsibility of the individual to dispose of. Nearby bins will be communicated during the event for your convenience.
5.2 Attendees are asked to be mindful of passers-by and those living in the surrounding area, during the event. Anyone acting disruptively to members of the public will be asked to leave the premises without a refund issued.
5.3 Equally, if any members of the public are consistently disruptive to attendees, they will be dealt with by the event volunteers and if necessary, the police will be informed.
5.4 Pride in the park will be situated in a grassy space, therefore we ask attendees to dress accordingly and wear appropriate footwear to minimise any slips or falls.
5.5 We encourage you to monitor the weather forecast as the event nears so to ensure sunscreen is worn (if necessary) or umbrellas are brought (if necessary)
6. ACCESSIBILITY
6.1 If you have any accessibility requirements, such as wheelchair access, please ensure you email [email protected] with as much notice as possible. As mentioned in 5.4, Pride in the park is situated in a grassy space, however we will do our best to accommodate.
6.2 Pride in the park is designed to be a fun, but relaxed experience. Each slot lasts for 1 hour and 30 minutes with unplugged musical entertainment throughout. If at any point you feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable, please alert an event volunteer and we will do our best to accommodate.
6.3 Adhering to the picnic structure of the event, seating will be blankets and pillows, which some may find uncomfortable. Please email [email protected] in advance if you require specific arrangements, and additionally refer to 4.5 if you wish to bring your own.
6.4 There will be no flash photography, strobe lighting, flashing images, or distinctly amplified sounds permitted or included at this event.
6.5 Please note that it is the responsibility of the attendee to raise any accessibility requirements or needs prior to the event. We will do our best to accommodate and will communicate transparently throughout the planning process.
7. CANCELLATION POLICY & REFUNDS
7.1 You reserve the right to cancel your ticket and receive a refund up to a week before the event. This is due to ensuring the order numbers we communicate to our suppliers will be exact in order to reduce any food waste.
7.2 Pride in the park is a weather-dependent event. If the weather conditions become adverse and ruled unfit for the event, the outdoor and social aspect of the event will be cancelled. This will be conveyed in email communications at least a day prior. Under these circumstances, attendees are still permitted to go to Greenwood and collect their goodie bags. Whether you collect your goodie bag or not, you will not receive a refund in these circumstances.
7.3 If halfway through the day the weather progresses to adverse conditions, the above conditions (7.2) remain. This means that even if certain time slots were able to occur and unfortunately, yours cannot, you are still able to retrieve your goodie bag and again, will not receive a refund.
7.4 Details of behaviour that will result in you being asked to vacate the premises and subsequently not be issued a refund, can be found in 2.1, 2.5, 3.2, 3.7, 4.1, 4.2, 4.4, 5.2.
7.5 Should the event have be cancelled due to Covid-19 related reasons, you will receive a partial refund of £6. This is because, like 7.2, you will still be permitted to go to Greenwood and collect your goodie bag.
8. HEALTH AND SAFETY
8.1 Pride in the park aims to be a safe and comfortable space to facilitate the celebration of Edinburgh Pride. We ask all attendees to do their best to uphold these aims.
8.2 In the event of an emergency, event volunteers will assist in ensuring the safety and security of all attendees. Please be sure to listen to the volunteers and follow any instructions.
